The MFC-8460N Mono Laser Multi-Function Centre is a scanner, copier, fax machine (which features a 33.6K bps Super G3* fax), built in Ethernet, 28 pages per minute (ppm) laser printer all in the one machine. The MFC-8460N combines performance, connectivity and reliability.
The MFC-8460N boasts 32MB memory which stores up to 500 pages, copies up to 99 pages with enlargement and reduction, flatbed colour scanning, a 50-page Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), a 250-sheet** paper tray (optional 2nd 250** sheet paper tray available), 300 speed dials, dual access, and simultaneous operation.
The MFC-8460N’s flatbed colour scanner feature enables you to copy from bound documents such as books and magazines. The PC Fax capability allows you to send and receive faxes directly from your PC.
Compatible with Microsoft® Windows® and Apple® Macintosh® and DOS operating systems, it includes both parallel and USB interfaces.
* Super G3- is a widely used advanced image data compression and transmission protocol for fax machines organised by CCITT (Consultative Committee for International Telephony and Telegraphy). Super G3 uses an analogue to digital process: hardcopy is scanned and sent over analogue lines to be received and reconstructed on the other end. Digital encoding using Modified Huffman compression algorithm or other advanced compression algorithms allow fast transmission of 33.6K bps. An A4 paper of 5% coverage can be sent in approximately 2 seconds.
